student-"so if eleven..."
teacher- "One-One"
student- "what?"
teacher- "you said eleven there is one eleven in hexadecimal, it's one-one"
student- "whatever"

Wife swap>sled riding-The Sidekicks
Yeah I gave their new album a try because you said it was so good, I like it, Hey Thanks is my favorite.
Also that's a cool song title (wife swap>sled riding)
Fireflies- The Lawrence Arms

I love all of their stuff officially. My fav is this party sucks because it perfectly describes my social awkwardness.

That's a pretty record player. And your record looks funnily out of place on it.
Islands (Suicide Machines cover)- Potshot
-
I found that record player in the dump. I have a better one, That one isn't even stereo, and it has a crystal stylus, it has trouble playing at a constant speed, and it's from the 1960s. The better one is quadraphonic, from the 1980s, has electronic speed synchronization, and a much more sensitive magnetic stylus, walking across the room can cause it to skip.
I like that old one because it is entirely portable, so long as there is electricity.
-
I love 1960's stuff so that's why I thought it was pretty. I've got a new one and I love it but I'd rather have a vintage one.
-
What I'm listening to on my other record player:
It's Scrambles, if you can't see.
and there is an image resizing add-on for the forum, but it's only for the beta of the next version.
-
OOOOO nice! My Scrambles is just black :/
-
I was disappointed it wasn't on the transparent pink though, because the secret message on the record sleeve doesn't show up.
-
Secret message?!
-
Supposedly when you put the transparent pink on top of the record sleeve, what once said "Scrambles" says "Bomb The Music Industry" but with the transparent blue, it doesn't work.
-
That's amazingly awesome. I wish I had pink.

From the bottom and hospitals by Off With their Heads. So excited for the show on saturday!
-
What's your favorite OWTH album? I'd say Hospitals
-
Hospitals is definitely the best. Then In Desolation. From the bottom was a bit of a dissapointment and I havent heard the other record yet.
-
Oh yeah I forgot about that one. I have a couple songs off it and they aren't that great.
I listened to the last song on In Desolation and it was amazing. Ryan Young needs a hug.
-
Yeah Clear The Air is one of the best on the album. Drive is my favorite, I read the review of the OWTH show in Chicago and the reviewer said he saw Ryan Young outside shirtless saying he was "too old for this stuff."

Agnostic Front - "Riot, Riot Upstart"

Yesterday I listened to a bunch of songs about my homestate of Delaware. Most weren't positive, though, haha. Apparently everyone hates Delaware except people from Delaware and people who go tax free shopping in Delaware.
-
Was it a Jade Tree comp?
-
Kinda, because the people who live in Delaware end up paying the taxes in other ways, so we kinda feel more entitled to the tax-free shopping.
Anyway, I don't live in Delaware anymore but I still visit it a few times/year and love it. And no, it wasn't a Jade Tree Comp. Although one of the songs was by TPR.

That's very cool that you like Terror. I don't really get into their music that much (just because it's too "typical" for me), but Scott is a very good friend of mine. We came from the same scene (in Buffalo), were in a band together for a few years before he left for L.A. (he played drums for us, believe it or not), and we still get drunk together everytime he comes back here. They're all good guys, and if anyone's put in the work to be a hardcore superstar, it's Vogel.
That's fucking awesome. I never listened to terror until KOTF came out and now I've listened to pretty much all of their stuff. I get to see them in November with 100 Demons, it should be the scariest show I ever go to. They seem like pretty cool guys too.

Ignite - Pieter
This song is just epic...
My dad's name was Pieter, and he died on the 27 of september in 2004. He was the most awesome person on the planet, and I still can't understand why he had to go. The lyrics of this song describe him so well. It's as if Zoli knew him, and wrote the song about him
-
It took me so long to get into the Aryeh Gonif/Tansy & Tarweed split but I listen to it almost every day now. Such good pure folk. And Queer Bar is an amazing dance song.
-
I don't think that'll ever change. I want my dad to see how different I've become, and the things I've achieved. But somewhere I feel like he does know, that in some kind of way he is watching.

Kyosuke Himuro ft. Gerard Way - Safe and Sound (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq0kOPuurlQ#)
-
...Gerard Way? Ew.
-
It's Kysouke that I love in that song, not Gerard Way. Despite the fact that I have a huge dislike towards MCR, I kinda love Way's singing in some songs (such as Drowning Lessons, Famous Last Words and this one). But Kysoke was awesome in the song CALLING, and is still awesome here despite the english lyrics
-
Ah, I hear ya. He wasn't that bad in their early stuff.
-
I love how the guy who said I don't listen to real punk listens to Pennywise.
Oh, irony.
-
oh no, you di'int!
-
Going on inside my head; "just shut up. Ignore him. Don't play into this arrogant, young, keyboard warrior's verbal diarrhea." Taking a deep breath...
OK, I'm better now.
Just so you know what you're talking about....
http://www.pennywisdom.com/bio.html (http://www.pennywisdom.com/bio.html)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennywise_%28band%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennywise_%28band%29)
Hey, you started it. I'm just pointing out that Pennywise aren't real punk, in fact they sound like a bunch of assholes.
-
Annoying bro music that drunk college frat boys listen to, at least they do here.
-
Boring as fucking hell.
-
BR is pretty boring.
Still love them.
But yeah Pennywise does suck, its punk, but it sucks.
-
A band can't help who listens to them...(Um, Floyd, I believe I saw some Green Day discs in your collection, didn't I?)
Pennywise is a legendary band that has been around for a LONG time, before it was "popular" for drunk college frat boys listen to it"...
Just because a band reaches some level of "mainstream" success doesn't make them any less important. If that were so, Rise Against would have lost their credibility too.
...they have. A long time ago. No one but college kids and A-F fans care about RA now.I forgot, you guys don't like Bad Religion either. Another LEGENDARY band who's "boring", right?
Right.
And the "acoustic folk inspired punk" or whatever you want call it that you play on your radio show isn't?
That's right.
-

-
"...they have. A long time ago. No one but college kids and A-F fans care about RA now."
Just in case you forgot, RA has made some incredible music during their career and like I said before, just because certain people choose to listen to them NOW does not diminish what they have done in the past. They started out just like any other band, paid their dues, and god forbid that they're lucky enough to be able tour the world, sell records, and make a living off of their music. Even though I don't really care too much for their new stuff, they still do a lot of good work (as far as the causes that they believe in), have something important to say to the masses, and haven't forgotten where they came from.
Yeah, but their music sucks now. That's all I'm saying.
"Right."
Well, that's your problem. You don't respect the history of punk at all. Without Bad Religion and Epitaph, punk music WOULD NOT be where it is today, and pretty much none of the music that you listen to would be around.
Just like when I started listening to music, the people that were making it were influenced by certain bands. I didn't act high and mighty and say "those bands suck, they're not punk." I respected them and even got into a lot of them because I wasn't a snob. I was open minded.
K. I like some old bands. Not a lot, but some. And I appreciate the pioneers, but what's important is right here, right now. Punk is at an amazing point right now, as well as music in general, and it's silly to dote on the past when the present is so fucking awesome.
"That's right."
You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't have to like it. If you give me some of that or some Pennywise and Bad Religion, you know what I'm going to choose.
What do you think of these bands???
The Circle Jerks
I like em. Don't listen to them much, though.
Bad Brains
Is this before or after they started making reggae music? They were great before.
The Exploited
Ugh. No thanks.
Minor Threat
Truly amazing band and Ian Mackaye is a really nice guy.
Subhumans
Listened to them once or twice but not enough to have an opinion on them.
The Clash
Superb band. I love them.
Dead Kennedys
Good. Not really for me, though.
The Ramones
I could take em or leave em.
The Misfits
I could take em or leave em.

Right now I am listening to Part two by Ruiner, before it I listened to Part One.

Even if Pennywise isn't punk, being a 'punk rocker' doesn't mean you can listen ONLY to punk, haha.

I loved em both! Maybe I even liked Tigers Jaw more? I'll have to listen to it again.

Well Tigers Jaw has more stuff, they have a seven inch an album, a sort of album and a new album coming out next month.
Your mind will be blown.
