hmm. weird. winfile and progman from that zip on the last page both work fine on my 64 bit windows 10 machine.
post screenshots of your problems maybe?

It works with Wine on Ubuntu, but Win10 and 8 have this problem. They were both 64 bit btw.

Website News / apparently we were offline

[im just posting this in this topic again, no need to create another new one to report on another website outage]

apparently we were offline...
i had no idea, as the site serves locally for me, but apparently at some point my router reset itself to factory settings and thus port forwarding needed reconfiguring. it seems like i was able to get on once when i was in indiana for pix fest (I WENT TO PIX FEST LAST WEEKEND IT WAS GREAT!) so i guess it happened some time since then. i really wish i had a way to automatically notify me when the site was offline, right now i just load up tor and see if it works from a proxy. oh well. i'd have never even known if someone hadn't emailed me. idk why anyone wants to use this place but thanks for that.

Nicely spoken about the Mac vs PC thing. I agree completely. I currently work for a college IT department. Our "Mac guy" does all his work on his Mac....running a windows VM because the Mac just doesn't cut it functionality-wise. The netAdmin got mad at windows 10, converted to mac, got even angrier at macOS and went BACK to windows! Anyway, i'm prettymuch kicking a dead horse.

I run lots of things. This laptop runs win 10, my desktop runs 8.1u1 because I haven't had the time to wipe it for win 10 yet, I have a couple older machines that run various linux distros, and one powerPC iMac G5 that the aforementioned "mac guy" gifted to me....too slow for macOS so I put mint linux on it (much faster).

Long story short, from time to time, I run everything because its my job to know how.

Haha well I found the place and thought that it was kinda cool. Then I changed jobs from the one that brought me to find this place so I forgot about it for a couple months. I had thought about just dumping my thoughts relating to stuff like this into here, both to help me organize them a little better but also to share them. I'll get a forum of my own for this someday haha but thats not a top priority for me right now.

Website News / So about that outage...
« Last post by Floyd on April 03, 2016, 03:44:56 pm »
you probably didn't notice that the website was offline yesterday and the day before that. well, my old DSL modem died. I got a new one yesterday afternoon and got the website back online shortly after. this new modem is 6mbps and has built-in wifi. supposedly it would even support https, if i can figure out how to do that. anyway, you won't notice much difference, as the upload speed is basically the same as the old one, but its still pretty cool to finally have wifi in my house.
ok bye.

i have no idea what your problem might be. this whole place is basically abandoned at this point. run it as an administrator maybe? i literally have no experience with vista and skipped straight from xp to 10.

that was half a joke. it probably would be possible, but tbh, nt3.51 isn't that great for day-to-day use. 6 years ago it was amomst useful, but the internet has changed a lot since then and you cant do much. put it in a vm and have fun.

os/2 is still pretty useful today tho.
