Floyd's Random Thoughts / Monthy post to keep this place on life-support
« on: February 26, 2013, 12:49:33 pm »
So yeah, tumblr killed my website. Tumblr Integration makes it look active but it's still pretty dead. Last month one person posted in the forum asking about Program Manager and that seems to be the main draw of my website now, it's the only place on the internet with those instructions. That is fine and great, but that isn't really what I wanted this website to be about. In other news, I AM GOING TO STAY SWEET FEST, THE UPDATED STAY SWEET FEST COUNTDOWN CLOCK IS HERE. That is all.
Website News / Tumblr Integration Complete (at least, partially)
« on: January 22, 2013, 07:33:18 pm »
It took working on it all day, but I think I finally have this tumblr thing integrated with my website so that the first post from here will show up there. Actually, that was the easy part the hard part was getting the LCARS surround for it to work correctly, and then I accidentally deleted half of the style.css file and could not get it back and had no backup so I just had to rebuild it all from memory and an outdated version and it is still not all back, but it is functional. I must admit, though, it looks pretty great.
I am making a topic here and anyone can post in it, this is until Matt can fix his website. You need to fix it soon, Matt, we all know my website probably can't keep up with your traffic.
Floyd's Random Thoughts / Have I mentioned this yet?

(click for bigger, click here for Facebook event)
This is a show happening tomorrow. Also tomorrow is my birthday. On the off chance you are reading this and live in Atlanta and are not a person I already know outside of the internet then you should come to it. This is the first time I have had real plans on my birthday in years so it is probably going to be really awkward for me You should come, it should be great.
Website News / Website's Anniversary and tons of spam
« on: November 16, 2012, 07:16:01 pm »
Last week (November 11) was the website's anniversary but I forgot to post about it. I deleted 21 spam accounts this morning. I changed the security questions and added one and did some more stuff, I don't think spam will be a problem again, at least not for a while.
Floyd's Random Thoughts / I guess this place is finally dead
« on: November 03, 2012, 11:03:33 pm »
I Joined Facebook, I joined tumblr, I stopped posting here for two months, I came back to let you know I am still alive, I WENT TO FEST AND IT WAS AMAZING. That is pretty much my life since the last time I posted here. I really hate to say that facebook and tumblr have made my life better. A lot of stuff has changed since I started this website, I have friends now, that was not true when this website was started. My friends are all amazing people and they apparently don't want to join here so I had to go to where they were. Facebook killed the internet message board and I think that is just terrible.

In other news, I did make a "Compatibility Mode" version of the website since the last time I posted here. For a website that has zero posts and averages less than 200 page views a month (I Just checked, that is true! average 5 a day!) this website is in constant development. Over the years, this has become my blog and also a testing ground for me to teach myself how to make a really great website. I know virtually nobody will ever see it, but it's far to cheap and easy to keep this server and website running for me to shut it down now.

Wow, I really kind of rant don't I? Well for compatibility mode, click here. for my facebook which I am on almost constantly, click here for my tumblr which I am also on constantly, click here.

Sorry for the huge block of text, I know you don't want to read that.

Until next month, this has been Floyd, signing off.
Floyd's Random Thoughts / I have been assimilated, resistance was futile

I joined tumblr. This website will live forever though, mainly because I like having an easy way to upload files to the internet and stuff.
Website News / Why didn't anyone tell me the website was offline?
« on: September 07, 2012, 01:08:00 pm »
I used this place to host a few sort of important files over the last few weeks and now I feel stupid because to everyone else I have just been posting dead links. What happened was I upgraded the hard drive on August 25 and switched the port forwarding on my router to go to the backup server. When I got done with the upgrade I turned the backup server off but forgot to put the router back to normal.

I am a fucking idiot. BUT THE SERVER HAS A 127GB HARD DRIVE NOW!

Anyway, that's all, bye see you all again next month!
Strike Anywhere News and Discussion / New Music!?
« on: July 17, 2012, 06:12:50 pm »
Not really, but sort of, IT'S AN ACOUSTIC RECORD OF OLD SONGS! I am really stoked about this, because not only is it the first "new" Strike Anywhere in three years, it is acoustic, which should be great!
Plus it matches this website:
It also comes on white vinyl or with a shirt and poster "on the rarest variant of vinyl available at the time of purchase". If you are boring you can buy it on digital download or on a CD.

I have just had lots of stuff going on lately and have not had time to post here. Here is what has been happening since my last update: PIX Fest was really great, there is a story to tell about getting there, but it was the best weekend of my life. A few weeks ago I got a Pentium II Computer off the side of the road, it now runs Windows 2000. My new desktop computer that I was using for a while died and now I am back to just a laptop, I need to build a new desktop. Next week there are lots of shows. The Wild's Kickstarter goals have been met. Next Monday is the series finale of Eureka. New Futurama is on and great, tonight Zapp Brannigan dates Leela's mother.
I guess that is all, I am really glad I have so many great friends that I can do stuff with and I really hate to say it but Facebook has made my life better.
Lots of stuff has been happening lately and I honesty just have not had time to update this. I am going to Plan-It-X Fest next week and that should be pretty rad. also my new computer died so I am back to just an outdated laptop, but it is running the base XP Service Pack 2 without any updates so it is a lot faster now. I am just really stoked on lots of stuff that is happening right now to quote someone on the twitter, #summervacay.
Floyd's Random Thoughts / Help The Wild make their new record
« on: May 10, 2012, 07:29:07 pm »
The Wild is probably my second favorite band and they are working on a new record. they have a Kickstarter, go donate what you can. I have heard some songs that are going to be on this, it should be great. These guys are my best friends, they are great people and they have great music. if you ever see them at a show, tell them I sent you. Here is what they said on their facebook page:
Hey everyone!! We're really excited about recording our new album with Tom Gabel at her studio in St Augustine late this summer! We need your help to cover studio costs. Anything you can contribute will be much appreciated. Please check out our kickstarter page. We love you!!

Website News / Welcome to Chorus of One 4.0

I have completely redesigned the entire site (or at least the home page the rest will come soon). with real CSS style sheets and LCARS controls. This is what I have always wanted the site to look like but was to lazy to do. The website from before the LCARS conversion will retain most of it's original appearance and will be returned to it's original condition whenever it gets archived. I will keep the last version of the website (v3.51) online forever here. All of the LCARS-based parts of the website have been run through a CSS Compatibility verifier and are functional. this page has 314 errors on it now, but all of them are from in non-LCARS part of the page and are due to FrontPage's sloppy code. they will not be fixed. All other pages on the site will have as few errors as possible on them.
So I made a stand-alone radio show program thing that you can read about and download here. Also, That page uses an entirely new formatting system, which has been adapted to this page, and will eventually be adapted to the entire website. To properly use it on the rest of the website, I will have to remove all HTML formatting and use the CSS style tags to set everything up. Remember, that the forum's appearance will never change until I figure out how to make a theme for it.
Website News / This is what happens when I learn CSS
« on: April 24, 2012, 01:56:18 pm »
So, now I can sort of use other fonts here that you may not have installed on your computer. I don't know if the whole website is going to be like this or not because, as of now, I have a weird half CSS half HTML formatting system set up where the default font is set from CSS but the color and size is set in HTML and it is really complicated and weird and I need to unify everything under one system if I am going to do this, so for now there is this one post and that is all. but imagine if the whole website looked like this! Also, I just realized the LCARS font IS sort of hard to read.
Also, if this shows up as Times New Roman then you are using an outdated browser or the latest Internet Explorer, shame on you!

(And, of course, the forum remains completely unchanged, as going into it's CSS and PHP files to edit it's appearance or make my own theme would be incredibly difficult, and I am lazy.)
