Joining Facebook is like being assimilated by the Borg. Nobody wants it to happen but once it does you forget about that and don't seem to care anymore because you are constantly surrounded by other people's thoughts and they by yours. That makes you feel less insignificant and so you like it, despite the negative things that happen when you join. You forget everything about your life before you were assimilated and do as the collective asks. It's not all that bad, but you still wish you had not joined.
WE ARE THE FACEBOOK. YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVENESS WILL BE ADDED TO OUR OWN. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.
