Eureka
« on: July 09, 2010, 09:16:21 pm »
This is not about the song by Defiance Ohio.

It's about show on the SyFy channel about a town full of geniuses and it's non-genius sheriff who has to fix all of the things that the scientists mess up. The season premiere is on right now and you should all be watching it.

apparently the 5 main characters have traveled back in time to 1947, when the town of Eureka was still just a military base. and they are playing period-accurate music during the show, not actual songs, just music during the show that sound like 1940s big band music.
I run this shit.

apparently cell phones + solar flares = time machine.

EDIT:
cell phones + solar flares in the present day + reactivation of a machine built by Einstein in the 1940s + similar solar flares in the 40s + original activation of Einstein's machine + experimental microwave satellite antenna = time machine

and now that everyone is back in 2010, they have found that history has changed... a lot. Also, someone from 1947 came back with them.

I have a feeling that at least half of this season will be about fixing what happened in this episode.
I run this shit.

The device that might allow them to return to their normal timeline has been destroyed. They can't tell anyone what happened. The android that replaced Sheriff Carter at the beginning of last season is back, but now he is the deputy. Deputy Lupo is head of security at Global Dynamics. Fargo is head of everything at GD. The guy from the 1940s is stuck in 2010 and is fascinated by our futuristic technologies, and always wants to smoke a cigarette.

My favorite quote from this week's episode was "I've been a part of this town for 60 years, I can't even begin to understand what you people do here, but Electricity doesn't change."

next week's episode apparently involves the town people becoming zombies whoop-de-fucking-doo.

Tonight is the episode where Claudia fro Warehouse 13 comes to town. Fargo has a bit of a crush on her since he went to the Warehouse. He literally rolled out the red carpet and  had a breakfast ready, she steps out of the car and says "Sup, Bitches"

I believe that is the most profane anything ever said on either of the shows, it was also the funnies thing ever.

Apparently, the reason Claudia came to Eureka is because after upgrading the Warehouse 13 computers, Fargo thought he would try improving on the "goo", a neutralizing agent for artifacts, it is purple and gooey.

That was good, the guy who came back from 48 was pulling objects through space-time to 2010 after they rebuilt the Einstein time-wormhole bridge. They deactivated the bridge and sent it to Warehouse 13 along with the new goo.

SyFy canceled it, the next season (2012) will be the last, unless they pay for another half-season to tie up all the loose ends.

ok so here it is, seven years after it was canceled, and this is still the most recent active topic under the tv and movies category.

well anyway i'm re-watching this show from the beginning now. there seems to be little need to post about it on here, but i thought i would anyway. tumblr apparently might die at any time, so i thought i'd try breathing a little life back into the old website.

im talking to myself. it's great.
