One day I was bored so I decided to find a Windows 3.x theme for Windows XP. After looking all over the internet, I found some that were shitty. most required some other ram-eating program for them to work, very few worked using Windows XP's built in theme system.
If you have never installed 3rd party themes on your computer before, you will need to patch uxtheme.dll. click here to Google search for something to do that with.
click here to download the theme installer program. Read it's instructions carefully when you run it.
There are 2 distinct themes here. "Windows 3.x Classic" that emulates a real Windows 3.51 system as best as possible, it is not finished and probably never will be. it is built on top of the Silver default XP theme, so some of that is still there.
the "Windows Whistler/3.x Hybrid" theme is my idea of what Windows might look like today if they continued with the 3.x style controls today. It is based on a Windows Watercolor theme I found somewhere I found somewhere On the internet, Watercolor being the theme for the Windows Whistler beta. I think it was one of the best looking versions of windows ever.
If you are the person who originally made that theme and you want
credit, tell me and I will give credit where it is due, I can't remember
where I found that theme.
Neither of these change any system icons or start menu things from the default that was in the theme. Explorer is barely changed at all. This theme is made for use with Program Manager as the default shell, instructions for getting that to run is here
Bugs:
Probably a lot, one I know for sure is that UltraMon does not work with the Classic theme.
if you find any, fix them yourself. if I find any huge ones I may fix them and release a new version.
