I just realized that the Space The final frontier... speech Leonard Nimoy gave at the end of ST 11 was the same as the one he gave at the beginning of ST 3

That was good. Now I wish Star Trek 4 would come on again. I have it on VHS, I may have to dust off the old VCR and watch it.

You know what? I run this forum, and I am going to pin this topic, for no other reason than my obsessive love of Star Trek.
I run this shit.

ENGAGE!

I'm not a huge fan of Star Trek, but I do like watching the shows and movies. From the original Kirk to the new Kirk, from DS9 to Enterprise

But in the end, nothing Star Trek has can compare to Star Wars. Namely because of this little scene

IT'S A TRAP
Thom - So what's the vibe like, in this room of power?
Garth - It's uuuuh positive, Thom, it's very positive
Thom - I sense that there's gonna be some tracking... some bass-tracking.
Garth - You sense that? You're a prophet, Thom

[Star Trek: TNG - Data] Ooh Shhhit

Just so you know, any mention of Star Wars in a Star Trek topic can be used as grounds for suspension, but you are new, so I forgive you this one time.

=( I'm getting very sad. I got addicted to Doctor Who.
Then since it was on the same channel, I watched Star Trek. (The Next Generation.)
Then I started watching it more and more.
Then I almost named my kitty Spock.
WHAT THE FUCK.

Uhm... well it's sort of been going on since the 60's, so I'm not quite sure if it would be considered a new version... but yes, there was recently a new season with a new 11th Doctor, Matt Smith. Ahaa the season finale was pretty mind-blowing. Even my dad couldnt see it coming.

(But I'm not quite sure we're allowed to talk about Doctor Who on a ...Star Trek topic... Floyd might not be happy.)

This is straight from TrekToday, http://www.trektoday.com/content/2010/09/happy-anniversary-star-trek/

Forty-four years ago tonight, Star Trek was one of three shows airing at 8:30 on that Thursday night, and those tuning in saw The Man Trap, a story about a strange creature who killed to obtain salt.

Airing on NBC, Star Trek was up again ABC’s The Tammy Grimes Show, and the still-popular My Three Sons which was airing on CBS.

Star Trek lasted only three seasons, dying in spite of a letter-writing campaign which gave it only one more season. That last season aired on Friday Nights from 10-11 PM, an unfortunate timeslot as its prime audience was apt to be away from home on a Friday night.

Syndication brought new fans and new popularity, however. Star Trek: The Animated Series was produced and ran on Saturday mornings from 1973-1974 on NBC, followed by 1979′s Star Trek: The Motion Picture. 1982′s popular Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan and a new Star Trek television series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, kept old fans and brought in new ones.

In 2010, Star Trek is still going strong, after six series (including The Animated Series), and eleven films. A twelfth film will release in 2012 featuring the new rebooted Star Trek.

It’s hard to believe that a show which aired in 1966 would still be going strong today. Certainly, fans and others involved with it back in 1966 had no clue that it would last so long. “Nobody knew that Star Trek would be successful,” said William Shatner, the original Captain Kirk.

The video below features a preview for The Man Trap.

I am watching Star Trek: Generations. Data has an emotion chip, he and Geordi went to 10-forward, and Guinan served them a drink.

Data- I think this beverage has elicited an emotional response
Geordi- What is it?
Data- I do not know
Guinan- He looks like he hates it.

Data- Yes! I hate this
Geordi- It looks like the emotion chip works
[takes another drink]
Data- I HATE THIS! IT IS REVOLTING!
Guinan- More?
Data- YES PLEASE!
I run this shit.
