Website News / I was 'hacked'
« on: November 11, 2014, 07:46:03 pm »
Congratulations, whoever uploaded this file to the root of my website!

I congratulate you on getting through my completely non-existent defenses. I moved it after I found it, as it didn't fit the file and directory structure I have established on this website. Honestly, I'd love to know how you did it, as I've wanted to be able to remotely upload stuff to my website for a long time (without using a complex sash and remote desktop thing that I disable when I'm not using it so don't even try that.) Anyway, if you figured out how to do that, honestly, I'd love to talk to you about it join the message board lets be friends!
Strike Anywhere News and Discussion / FEST IS TOMORROW
« on: October 30, 2014, 02:23:57 pm »
Tomorrow is fest, i am going to see Strike Anywhere and its going to be great. Also it's going to be Mixtapes's last show ever, i saw them the day before yesterday in atlanta and it was the best thing ever. also apparently strike anywhere's website is offline so i guess that makes this the only strike anywhere website on the whole internet. if you are at fest we should hang out or something.
Website News / You may be wondering why it's been offline for a week
« on: September 01, 2014, 11:50:51 am »
the network card died due to a lightning storm (it fucked up the hdmi inputs on my tv too) and i didn't realize it until the day before yesterday then i turned the backup server on. now i fixed the main server and everything is back to normal. i doubt anyone noticed, nobody comes here anymore. two months until fest where strike anywhere is playing. i'm stoked. there has been a simpsons marathon for the last 12 days, it's almost over now.

I need to start updating my website again, it looks so lonely and dead on here. Also i uninstalled the frontpage server extensions, they were just making things more complicated than they should be i do most of the website's editing in code view in frontpage now anyway because it dosn't correctly display my css or html5 parts anymore.

Also i archived the 2013 news. now the main page looks really empty.

Website News / I broke the forum's theme
« on: March 24, 2014, 12:47:43 pm »
im not sure what i did, a few months ago i had to move the folder the website is on from "d:\chorus of one" to "d:\chorusofone" everything copied over without any problems and i deleted "d:\chours of one" today and it messed up the theme here, im not sure why or if i will even bother to fix it. that is all.
Floyd's Random Thoughts / Happy New Year and stuff I guess
« on: January 15, 2014, 07:08:37 pm »
here it is another year and this place somehow still exists. I'm going to new york city this weekend and it's going to be really great. in website news well believe it or not, I finally got the FrontPage server extensions working, wow that only took five years. I really don't need them but I needed them to do something you will never know about the other day so I fixed them, it took about two hours once I actually sat down and did it. up until now I have made everything standards-complainant and universally- functional anyway but it might come in handy for something again.
Website News / The forum broke, I fixed it.
« on: December 19, 2013, 10:03:58 am »
Yesterday afternoon I noticed the forum was broken.
Table ‘.\co1\co1_sessions’ is marked as crashed and should be repaired
was the error. I thought about not fixing and just replacing the forum with a message about something happening and me not fixing it because nobody uses it anyway but it was pretty easy to fix so it's fixed!

Yep, it was on this day in 2009 that I first brought this website on-line. a bunch changed and then it died and now it's basically just here for me to have cheap, fully-controllable online storage. Who knows, maybe one day after the facebooks and tumblrs gone away and this social networking fad is dead this website will make the comeback it always deserved.
So this website's former competitor, punkcdsampler has been taken off-line. I guess that means I win. This website will be here forever because it costs next to nothing to keep online.
In other news I GOT A NEW COMMODORE 64 AND IT'S REALLY GREAT. ALSO, IT'S JUST 43 DAYS UNTIL THE FEST!!! What else happened lately, well shows in Atlanta have not been happening as much lately and I don't know why I guess its because all my friends moved away. I really want to start having radio shows again too I know I said that in may and have not had one since then but maybe it will happen again who knows. I made a kind of great MS-DOS clone for the Commodore 64 I may post it on here soon who knows. anyway I cant think of anything else to post here so I guess that is all
Music / Mixtapes
« on: June 21, 2013, 01:59:41 pm »
Mixtapes is the only band that is close to being as good as Strike Anywhere (The Wild is another) and Mixtapes has a new music video, it's on MTVu of all places which is weird, and honestly this video isn't half as good as some of their others (The New Ride The Lightning, Anyways, and Taking a year off come to mind) but it's still pretty great, also it is one of my favorite songs so that is good too.

Watch it now.

[I can't embed this video in the forum, sorry!]
This sounds kind of stupid but I finally got around to fixing all the topics in General Discussion so that they list their original creation date and person instead of me. Sure, it has been wrong ever since August 14, 2011 when I upgraded the forum and corrupted the database but better late than never right!. Honestly, I just got really nostalgic for the old days and wanted to go read some of the old topics and had to fix them first. If anyone wants to post in the again and bring them back to life, that would be great!
Website News / Thoughts on Radio Shows
« on: May 07, 2013, 10:40:43 am »
Last night I had the first radio show since December, I think, and people came and music was heard and it was really great. If that many people would come to the next one I would start having them on a regular basis again. the best part was that it was people who have never even been to one before, but that is not to say that my internet friends shouldn't come, you should too. everyone should come because that is when the shows are the most fun, when lots of people come and there is lots of great talk about lots of stuff and the music is just shared background noise. Also, if this happens again soon, YOU NEED TO REQUEST MUSIC, I HAVE NEVER BEEN GOOD AT MAKING PLAYLISTS but I really want to start having these again, back in 2009-2011 when they were in their height and before I started going to shows these were the funnest thing and I met some of my best internet friends all because of a dumb chatroom with a music player attached.

Website News
Goodbye, everyone!

After four long years, I have finally decided to pull the plug on my website. I had a good run, but I need to face facts that nobody posts here anymore, I don't even post here anymore. If you want to keep up with me go to my facebook page at or my tumblr at I am going to join twitter next week, Social Networking is amazing! I will leave this message up for another week, after that, the server will be turned off and all the hard drives will be erased. Thank you for four great years.

That is all, Hailing frequencies closed

That is what the front page says right now. If you are reading this now, don't worry, this website will never die.
from facebook...
Next week we will be announcing 2 US East Coast shows that are happening in June!!! One headlining show... and one show opening for a band that has been influential and inspirational to us for decades! Any guesses???
Not Rancid. Not Black Flag. One city was guess correctly
That is also good, two terrible bands that are definitely not playing, the cities that people guessed were New York City, Norfolk (probably west Virginia) and Richmond Virginia. I will go if it is RVA, who knows maybe it will be somewhere even closer. I am fucking stoked about this and I hope I won't be disappointed.

I won't say who it is... but another hint... this band is not from the US.
so, the other band is some band that I don't care about. Well, at least Strike Anywhere is on the east coat
Also, I am just going to say this, but those facebook updates read like they were written by someone who does not speak english as their native language, but who knows it just reads kind of awkwardly.
